Meet PolyM this New School Year

(31st August, 2019, Shanghai) The annual “Welcome Back to School” party co-hosted by the German Chamber of Commerce| Shanghai, in cooperation with the German School Hongqiao, kicked off again this year in the courtyard of the school. Hape organised a PolyM creative challenge during the event, welcoming old and new students and wishing them a great new start in the school.

Just like last year, the “Welcome Back to School” party drew crowds of children and parents and featured excellent live shows, fascinating games as well as tasty German foods. As a member of the German Chamber of Commerce | Shanghai, Hape participated in the great party again this year, welcoming children with the German building block, PolyM. Unlike any other games with prescribed instructions for toy building, this year we provided children with a creative building challenge in order to let them build their own original creations and to explore their imaginations. Children enthusiastically signed up for the challenge and were thoroughly engrossed in building unique PolyM structures. The interested children, patient and curious parents and creative and original PolyM features, combined to make the PolyM challenge a great success, kicking-off the new school year withhappy laughter. In the end, two children won the grand prizes respectively (a set of City Vehicles and an Adventure Rocket) for their dazzlingly original creations.

PolyM, a German creative building brick brand established in 1980, was acquired by Hape Holding AG in 2017. It was created by Meyer, a German auto engineer, for his daughter, and it is still developed and operated by the grandchild of Meyer today.This May, PolyM was awarded the grand Good Toy Award 2019 (hosted by the “Art and Play” Creation Association, the Japanese NPO that operates Tokyo Toy Museum) in Japan, winning unanimous recognition and generous applause.

PolyM präsentiert sich auf dem Willkommensfest der Deutschen Schule Shanghai

Shanghai, 31. August 2019. Auch dieses Jahr fand auf dem Schulhof der Deutschen Schule Shanghai Hongqiao das in Zusammenarbeit mit der Deutschen Auslandshandelskammer Shanghai organisierte Event Welcome Back To School zum Start des neuen Schuljahres statt, bei dem alle Schülerinnen und Schüler willkommen geheißen werden. Hape beteiligte sich an diesem Fest mit einem Stand, an dem ein Kreativwettbewerb mit PolyM-Bausteinen veranstaltet wurde.

Wie im Vorjahr zog das Willkommensfest mit seinen Live-Shows, spannenden Spielen und leckerem deutschen Essen zahlreiche Kinder und Eltern an. Hape beteiligte sich als Mitglied der Deutschen Außenhandelskammer Shanghai erneut an dieser schönen Veranstaltung und präsentierte in diesem Jahr das deutsche Baustein-System PolyM. Beim Wettbewerb sollten die Kinder nicht anhand einer Anleitung ein bestimmtes Spielzeug bauen, sondern durften ihrer Fantasie freien Lauf lassen und ihre eigenen Ideen präsentieren. Die Kinder waren davon begeistert und bauten mit Feuereifer ihre eigenen PolyM-Kreationen. Natürlich wollten auch die Eltern sehen, wie fantasievoll ihre Kinder die PolyM-Bausteine kombinierten. Dabei ging es fröhlich und laut zu – der PolyM-Wettbewerb zu Schuljahresanfang war ein voller Erfolg. Am Ende wurden die Hauptpreise – ein Set mit Stadtfahrzeugen und eine Abenteuer-Mondrakete – an zwei Kinder vergeben, die sich besonders kreativ gezeigt hatten.

Die 1980 in Deutschland gegründete Marke für Spielbausteine PolyM wurde 2017 von der Hape Holding AG übernommen. Die Spielbausteine hatte der deutsche Kfz-Ingenieur Anton Meyer einst für seine Tochter erfunden. Noch heute wird PolyM von Anton Meyers Enkel weiterentwickelt. Im Mai 2019 wurde PolyM in Japan mit dem Good Toy Award 2019 ausgezeichnet. Dieser Preis wird von der Non-Profit-Organisation Art and Play vergeben, die das Tokyo Toy Museum betreibt.

PolyM Wins the Good Toy Award 2019

(25th May, 2019, Japan) The grand Good Toy Award 2019 ceremony was held at the Tokyo Toy Museum of Art, where the PolyM Dinosaur Paradise Kit – after being selected by 6,000 toy consultants – claimed the Good Toy Award 2019, winning unanimous recognition and generous applause.

The award’s consultants gave high praise to PolyM, the German creative building brick, recommending it to children and parents as a safe and educational toy. The eco-friendly materials are machine washable and have rounded edges, providing children with a safe and hygienic playing tool and making it easy to clean and store. Furthermore, it is soft enough that children can step on it without feeling any pain and easy to assemble. A sustainable and safe toy, PolyM provides children with endless building possibilities. Masayo Ono, one of the award’s toy consultants, commented, “with beautiful colours, and appropriate size and shape which is easy to assemble, the toy brings out the creativity of children.”

The award, bestowed in Japan, highlights PolyM’s widely recognised safety and sustainability features, and identifies its play-value and educational significance. Moreover, the award helps make the German-style classic toy brand available to all, especially in Asia, which is a big step for PolyM. We cordially hope German toys can deliver more and more happiness to all children around the globe.

The Good Toy Award is hosted by the “Art and Play” Creation Association, the Japanese NPO that operates Tokyo Toy Museum. The Good Toy Awards date back to 1985, and their aim is to recommend good toys to the public via their annual awards. It consists of three sub-prizes; the Good Toy Grand Prize (one winner each year), the Hayashino Secretary of State Prize (one winner each year), and the Good Toy award (dozens of winners).

PolyM gewinnt den Good Toy Award 2019

Tokyo, 25. Mai 2019. Die Preisverleihung des Good Toy Award 2019 fand dieses Jahr im Tokyo Toy Museum statt. Insgesamt 6000 Vertreter der Spielzeugbranche hatten sich dafür entschieden, das Dinosaurier-Paradies von PolyM zum Sieger des Good Toy Award 2019 zu erklären. Diese Entscheidung stieß auf breite Zustimmung, wie der lang anhaltende Applaus des Publikums zeigte.

Die Jury lobte den in Deutschland entwickelten Spielbaustein in den höchsten Tönen und empfahl ihn als sicheres Lernspielzeug. Das umweltfreundliche Material ist maschinenwaschbar und hat abgerundete Kanten. Die PolyM-Spielbausteine sind sicher und hygienisch, sie können leicht gereinigt und platzsparend aufbewahrt werden. Darüber hinaus sind sie weich, so dass es nicht weh tut, wenn man versehentlich auf sie tritt. Dieses nachhaltige und sichere Spielzeug bietet Kindern schier unendliche Kombinationsmöglichkeiten. Jurymitglied Masayo Ono meinte zu PolyM: „Dieses Spielzeug bietet schöne Farben, eine kindgerechte Größe und Form und fördert die Kreativität der Kinder.“

Der in Japan verliehene Preis ist eine weitere Anerkennung der Sicherheit und Nachhaltigkeit sowie des kreativen und pädagogischen Werts von PolyM. Darüber hinaus verhilft der Preis der klassischen Spielzeugmarke aus Deutschland in Asien zu größerer Bekanntheit – dies ist für das Unternehmen von großer Bedeutung, denn es hofft, dass PolyM seinen Siegeszug rund um den Globus fortsetzen und immer mehr Kindern Freude bereiten kann.

Der Good Toy Award wird von der gemeinnützigen Kreativgemeinschaft Art and Play verliehen, die das Tokyo Toy Museum betreibt. Zum ersten Mal wurden die Good Toy Awards 1985 verliehen. Seitdem sollen sie jedes Jahr empfehlenswertes Spielzeug einem größeren Publikum bekannt machen. Es gibt drei Preiskategorien: den Good Toy Grand Prize (ein Hauptpreis), den Hayashino Secretary of State Prize (ein Hauptpreis) und den Good Toy Award (mehrere Preise).
